For Leopold painting is like meditating. He finds his joy in painting as detailed as possible. He is obsessed by the beauty of the Kingfisher (NL: IJsvogel). The passion for these birds grew over the years, from seeing it for the first time in the picture on the front of his biology book, to seeing it for the first time in real life years later.
Leopold started looking for a nice painting of a kingfisher, but couldn’t find any. So he decided to do it himself! He wants to paint the kingfisher as realistic as possible. Every time it is the challenge to make a painting that does justice to the beauty of the kingfisher.
